Why did we choose Lake Atitlán as our cocoon?
It is beyond words to describe the intimate calling I have to visit Lake Atitlán. But I’ll do my best :)) Years ago, when I first began studying South American Shamanism, I started hearing about Lake Atitlán and the ceremonies, gatherings, and retreats that were happening there. It was then I could hear my heart strings pulled and played . The colors of the threads woven into the fabric of the Mayan culture, my soul curious. The bottom of this lake magically, some say, has never been found, it was created 85,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption. With volcanic energy surrounding the lake I can imagine the fierce transformative power available to bring up what is hidden deep inside of us. Recently, a friend of mine helped confirm this calling by giving me a book which takes place on the shores of Lake Atitlán, Secrets of the Talking Jaguar: Memoirs from the Living Heart of a Mayan Village written by a shaman named Martin Prechtel. The teachings in this book as well as the teachings gifted to me through my studies of shamanic cultures in Peru, India, the British Isles, and North America have revealed much needed wisdom to help bridge and heal separation wounds culturally and personally. I am honored to put my ear to the ground with you and listen for the ancestors teachings held by this sacred land and Lake Atitlán. ~Jenna Sample Daily Schedule:

She has also studied other healing modalities that complement her yoga, including Shiatsu massage at the Ohashi Institute, herbology with Arcus Flynn, nutrition and quantum energy studies with Karen Panish and Siddha Yoga chanting and meditation. She has also completed 675 hours of training in Peruvian Shamanism with Alberto Villoldo’s, The Four Winds Society.
